Really good information! Just wondering what kind of salary a yoga instructor can bring in monthly?

HI Melissa, great question! Yoga instructors can make $30 to upwards of $150 a class, depending on if they are teaching at a yoga studio, health club, corporate or one on one setting. Hope that helps answer your question!

My daughter takes tons of courses with you, I am an old lawyer codger and get these emails– up until lately a putative employer would always pay for the training of its putative employees. If you are looking to train potential employees why not do the same? If this is general industry wide training I would understand charging for it but I would imagine that each studio would have its own training standards, etc. Is there some type of certification body and if so does this program get one certified to teach, and if so, what and how?

HI Steve, thanks so much for your comment and great question! Our teacher training not only prepares our students to teach for us, but also any yoga studio, gym, corporation, etc. Our program is registered with Yoga Alliance, the organization that sets industry standards for yoga teachers around the world. Please let us know if you have any other questions and hopefully your daughter will continue her passion for yoga and someday become a yoga alliance registered teacher through YBD’s 200 hour certification program.

I am interested in teacher training. Want to do that in place that is committed to yoga. Is YBD committed to staying a yoga studio, or is the push to be more aerobics/yoga sculpt?
I love aerobic activity, so I understand a lot of people like the physicality of sculpt/aerobics, but my experience is that it is counter to some of the basics of yoga e.g. stillness and slowness and intentionality. This is what I am at YBD for.
Am wondering what YBD owners/directors view as the future w regard to remaining as a yoga studio and demonstrating that commitment by, for example, having a 6am yoga class every morn at Elmhurst? Is word that they are going to replace the yoga classes w sculpt.
Thank you Scott Blumenshine

Hi Christin, You can miss up to three sessions as long as you make up the time with your designated Mentor to which you will be assigned. It is not uncommon to miss a few sessions during the training, so you should be fine. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you soon! – Best, Samantha R.
